Jack takes the battle against Ching Dai
into his own hands.
Story Summary
Picking up from the previous issue, Egg
pulls Jack aside to tell him that the ritual to banish Ching Dai
involves killing the flesh bridge...Jack himself. Jack knocks
out Egg and uses Egg's mystical book to cast a blood shield
around himself for protection from the outside. Then he uses the
book to summon Ching Dai to make a deal for the demon to bring
Wang's wife and daughter back from the dead, otherwise Jack will
kill himself, banishing Ching Dai in the process. Ching Dai
brings the two women back, but Jack drinks Egg's angel's blood
potion anyway to kill himself.
But Wang sees Jack's attempted
self-sacrifice and punches him in the gut, causing Jack to spit
out the poison.
Miao Yin and Winona don't recall the
afterlife except for light, music, and a warm, fuzzy feeling the
whole time. Egg concludes they were in Heaven, which also means
that Ching Dai now has a bridge to Heaven as well as Earth and
he could now invade Heaven. Jack and Lo Pan both think that
means Jack must die after all to stop the demon, but Egg points
out that the effort it took Ching Dai to breach Heaven must have
been unimaginable and he will be at his absolute weakest now.
They all agree to take on Ching Dai head on.

"Old Man Jack" Part 9.
